EXPANDED LIVING is a proposal to reconsider New York affordable housing as a point of departure that expands on quality, affordable living within a dense, urban living environment. Housing is the perfect platform to address essential issues of costs and energy - but also to develop considerations of space, communication, mobility and community.

Our proposal explores the idea of efficiently developing the floor plate and inserting units and pockets with a skin that promotes open air flow and creating valued spaces beyond your private unit - expanded living and can work with scaled in-fill lots or a freestanding building.
