Our primary design strategy was to open the interior of the floors to allow for more light and a stronger connection with the exterior. In both plan and section, we added and subtracted volumes to allow for an increase of natural light into the core of the brownstone. Two of these volume shifts evolved into a first level deck and an interior/exterior roof terrace and tea room.
