A beautiful eight bed, four and a half bath Dutch Colonial residence located in the Ditmas Park Historic District was in need of an overhaul after being occupied by the same couple for the last several decades. The former owners, an elderly couple, understandably used the large house sparingly and not to its full potential. The new owners, a family of five, loved the spaciousness and wanted to revitalize the house and use it to its fullest. This meant re-thinking the main floor situation with its more formal layout of the past while retaining the original charm and at the same time, focusing the budget and scope on updates that are manageable.
